Are you a bricks and mortar business owner? Have a shop front, retail store people come in to your store and buy products from you?
Well if that’s you, I want to talk to you because a couple of you have recently told me that video marketing has no place in your marketing strategy.
So I just want to clear things up just so that you don’t get things wrong; and get the wrong advice. So stay tuned and I will tell you all about it.
Hi guys Joshua Van Den Broek here, Founder of Video Marketing Done For You and in this video I am talking why being a bricks and mortar business owner is no different to being an online business owner.
You see you are both trying to attract customers. Now if you are a bricks and mortar business, perhaps you’re a dentist and the way you get customers is through a bit of walk by traffic.
That is a fantastic strategy but I wouldn’t hang my hat on it and say that that’s the only way I am going to get my customers.
You see people are actually looking for you in different ways. Now times have changed and technology has allowed us to do a lot more things a lot easier.
So now I am sure that if you looked down the street and you will see a lot of people scrolling through their smartphones trying to search for something. Trying to search for a place, a retail store or somewhere that they are trying to buy something from.
It happens all the time, just not long ago I was down on the high street and you can actually see people trying to find a retail store. They were in the vicinity of it but they didn’t know where the store was so they were trying to find it.
So you need to consider a few things when marketing yourself. Just because you are bricks and mortar it doesn’t mean you don’t need an online presence.
So you may have your local listings, so you are appearing on google for that sort of thing, but you want to use video to build the rapport with your potential customers, your prospects.
Sometimes they are at home, they may not be right outside your door trying to find you because they already know where you are. But perhaps they haven’t heard of you yet and they are looking for a particular problem to be solved. Maybe they are looking for a dentist in the local area. But maybe they are looking for something else.
So let’s say I was looking for a dentist because I have got a sore tooth. I am going to search for dentists in Sydney; and then I will get a whole series of listings; and then I am going to go check to see which ones maybe are close by to me and I might look at their website.
Once I get to their website, I am going to try to find out a little bit more about them. Because you are starting to qualify that business to whether you are actually going to give them business by going to visit them and have them pull your tooth out.
It is not about you, it is about your customers and the way that they are trying to find you.
So if you can have a video of you demonstrating your craft your website with a friendly smile and is very engaging, then you are going to be more than likely to have that customer go from the website, perhaps they might call in, perhaps they might come by or perhaps they may make an enquiry.
So to recap, a bricks and mortar business is no different to an online business. It is not about you it is about your customers and your prospects; and where they are looking for you.
They’re looking for you online, typically from their smartphones. So why not have videos on your website to showcase your craft and then encourage them to contact you to become a customer.
