Have you put off shooting your videos because you fear of being in front of camera?
Watch this video because I am going to share with you my strategy for how you can overcome that fear and start marketing your videos online.
Hi guys Joshua Van Den Broek here, founder of Video Marketing Done For You and in this video I am going to share my strategy four how you can overcome your fear of being in front of camera.
Now right now I’m sitting in a room on my own. Fantastic! So there is nothing really to be afraid of. It’s easy to say but I am just talking to you through my iPhone. So I am shooting a quick little video to tell you how you can overcome that fear. That is the first step to actually sit down and just try.
Now the second thing is you need to practice. Nobody is here judging me and you might be watching this video at home and I don’t think you are looking at my hair or the clothing I’m wearing for what it is that I’m doing, because you are listening to my message.
As long as you can hear me and see me, what I look like is actually irrelevant. Now I don’t like the way that I’m looking right now but I’m trying to make a point in this video that it is irrelevant. You’re here to learn how you can overcome your fear of being in front of the camera.
My suggestion to you is that you start practising. Nobody ever said that you need to publish every video that you shoot. Let’s let that sink in for a while.
You don’t have to publish those videos, so why not start practising?
Get out your smart phone and start shooting some videos and once that you have shot those videos go back and review them. See what you look like in sound like, because it’s all about feeling comfortable in front of the camera and currently you’re not in that’s why you’re not doing it.
So start practising and become more comfortable by reviewing those videos look for little mannerisms, ticks and things that you might not realise that you are doing whilst on camera. Once you do the revision then you can say I can change this or I can adjust this, you might listen to the sound of your voice and think oh I don’t like the way I sound.
Perhaps some boring like I’m not talking too much a bit like a robot. Maybe you need to speed it up a little bit, emphasise key points. Change the way that you’re doing things. Practice and practice and practice I can’t emphasise this enough.
The more you practice the better that you get. Progress is better than perfection. I said this so many times in my life and I believe it.
So all you need to do is sit in front of your camera and start shooting these videos, don’t care if you ever publish these videos or not. I’m sure that there are so many videos that I haven’t published that I just don’t want to look at.
I’ve been there. When I first started I hated being in front of the camera but now I see it a little bit of a performance. A little bit of time to have fun, I’m here on my own it doesn’t matter.
So we need to do to get started shooting videos is just that. Get started. Start shooting those practice videos, review them, make little adjustments see you can get better and better and better.
If you like this video I’d love for you to subscribe to my channel and watch more videos like it. And if you could share it with your friends on social media that would be great also.
I look forward to seeing you in my next video. Bye for now!
